We have been heads-down shipping over the past few weeks. Here is everything that has landed in DottSign, from new features to under-the-hood fixes.
Help Center with AI Assistant
The new Help Center is live. It is organized into categories, Getting Started, Sending Contracts, Signing, Billing, and Account, so you can find answers without hunting through menus.
Every page in the Help Center now has an AI chat button. Tap it and ask anything. The assistant reads the help articles and replies instantly. No support ticket, no wait time. It is available 24/7 in English and Portuguese.
We also added video walkthroughs to the most-used help articles, so you can follow along visually instead of reading a wall of text.
Interactive Onboarding Tour
New to DottSign? The app now walks you through the key features the first time you log in. The guided tour covers uploading a document, placing signature spots, adding signers, and tracking status. You can dismiss it at any time and reopen it from the help menu whenever you want.
OCR: More Reliable, Better UI
OCR processing, the step that makes scanned PDFs searchable and signable, received a significant overhaul:
- Live status banner appears while OCR runs so you always know what is happening instead of staring at a spinner.
- Auto-poll checks OCR status whether the panel is open or not, so results appear as soon as processing finishes.
- Scanned image PDFs now render correctly before OCR completes, thanks to a DOMMatrix and Path2D polyfill for the PDF renderer.
- The underlying PDF-to-image conversion was replaced with a faster, more reliable pipeline that no longer depends on the optional canvas native module.
- Error messages are clearer and translated into Portuguese for Brazilian users.
Performance Improvements
The app is faster. Dashboard pages and the contract list load quicker, with fewer unnecessary requests and less lag.
Bug Fixes
- Signature rendering: Signatures on some PDFs were blurry or misaligned. Fixed.
- PDF viewer: Some contracts opened with blank pages. Fixed.
- Plan page: Minor issues in the plan upgrade flow were resolved.
- OCR status messages: Status text now displays correctly in the user's language.
What Is Coming Next
The roadmap is public at dottsign.com/roadmap. The next big item is Obligations and Key Date Tracking, which will let you attach deadlines, payment milestones, and notice windows directly to a contract and get reminded before they pass.
